Since we moved to Oregon in 1998, there have been lots of changes in our neighborhood.  We were almost "out in the country" when we first moved into our house.  Now there are new houses all around us and we are in the middle of a developed area.  Here are some of the changes:
August 1998
This is how the land to the west of us looked in August 1998
This is May of 2000. The land has been cleared and regraded and the basics for future utilities are all in place. A new street extends from what was a dead end when we moved in. There are lots ready for 33 manufactured homes.
This was taken in early December 2003.  There are 17 houses below us now and land not connected to this development is also being built on.  It's getting harder and harder to find a good spot to walk the dog!

This picture was taken on November 21, 2004.
This photo was taken in December 2005.  Note the additional houses on the left hand side.
All of the lots developed by Len's Homes have now been sold and all but one has been built on.  That one will not be built on as a current owner bought two lots.  In August 2006 the first lots in the land to the west of the Alzheimer's Center were seeing construction.  It looks like the lots may only be 40 feet wide - very small compared to the other lots in this neighborhood though ours is only 50 feet.  These are two story homes, starting at $225,000.  Several have been sold and the cars seem to be mostly from California.  That is a bargain basement price compared to California.  They can't go any farther to the south as that is Indian land.  There is now a fence there to keep people out.  I used to walk the dog on the edge of that property but can no longer go there.
Welcome to my site.  Even though Janet is no longer with us, she is still an integral part of this site from years past and will live on here as long as I have this website. I'll continue to share what is happening in my life and revisit the good times Jancy and I had in the past. I invite you to join us whenever you want.

Life on the Southern Oregon Coast is sometimes rainy, sometimes sunny, usually windy, but always enjoyable.  I hope you will agree.

These houses started at $225K when they were built.  In 2023 they are going for around $400K.  Crazy
The houses in the center section are an extension of Fulton Ave.  You can see the concrete barricade where the street has yet to be put in.  Eventually, all of this land will be built on and we'll be able to get over to the bay by going straight down our street.

As of 1/21/2020 the street still hasn't been put through.  Jancy and I had bets on when it would go through we both lost.
