Janet grew up in Topeka, Kansas in a loving family as one of five siblings. She's trying to teach me what it is like to have sibs - like -don't think your peel and eat shrimp will last if you try and peel them and save them in a little stack on the side of your plate!

From 2000 to 2006 a lot of growing up went on. In the fall of 2006 Gavin started his senior year of college and Trevor started his freshman year.
In 2005 Janet had a chance to reunite with another part of her family. We had Thanksgiving in Hillsboro with her dad's second family and part of his first.

In late April of 2007 Janet's sister-in-law, Tammy, and her girls stopped by for an afternoon visit. It had been several years since Janet had seen them - the girls are now all grown up and Caitlin just graduated from high school.

A few years ago Janet's brother, Jim, met a gal named Sherry. At the time, Sherry was living in Arizona which made for an interesting dating scene. Eventually, Sherry moved to California to be with Jim and about a year ago they bought a house together in Escondido, CA. Trying to keep things on the down low, they decided to get married in a small civil ceremony on February 2nd. Well, Gavin had it out on Facebook almost before they had finished saying, "I do." and we found out about it soon after.
A day later, we got the official word from Jim with a few photos. We are so pleased for the both of them and we look forward to the time when we will have an opportunity to visit them in their new digs and give our toast.
We took a trip down to California to see Jim and Sherry for Jim's infamous Halloween party in 2013.
On that trip, we got to meet up with Gavin and his fiancee, Cassie, for dinner. They make a delightful couple and we were pleased to learn of their engagement last year (2015). As I understand it, the date is tenatively set for April of 2017 but in the meantime, they have just purchased their first home in a suburb of San Diego and I wish them nothing but the best.
